Uploaded 27.02.12 The University of Sussex - BA in Working Children and Young People The University of Sussex is launching a BA in Working with Children and Young People that includes modules on European perspectives and Social Pedagogy. CWDC worked with stakeholders across the residential and foster care sector to develop four new foster care units and one new social pedagogy unit in 2010. We received positive feedback from our employer advisory group and a number of expert work based assessors, managers and practitioners in the field on the content early in 2011. CWDC are currently exploring how best to make these additional units available for learners, prior to them becoming part of the optional unit bank of the L3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce. It is anticipated that the units will become available within the optional unit bank by September 2012 but due to the urgent need for these units, CWDC is in talks with Awarding Organisations to find a more immediate solution. CWDC would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in helping to form the units and get them to this stage . We will keep you updated as the situation develops.

Students already enrolled in BA programmes are welcome to apply for the 17 week course, "Head, Heart, Hands - Social Education and Pedagogy in Denmark" offered by VIA University College, Arhus, Denmark.
